The obvious thing to do with e-cigarttes would be to speak to a doctor and get their opinion on the pros and cons of using e-cigarettes and the new 'myth' surrounding them that they are safe (health wise) to use. However, myself and my group are fixed on the idea of doing a fun news piece for a young target audience; interviewing a health professional wouldn't really fit with this idea.
After more brainstorming, we had the idea of going to a vape lounge and interviewing the owners' about their stance on e cigarettes and what they believe the pros and cons to be. Although they would be subjective as the owners' of a vape lounge, this environment is much more suitable for our target audience. We could also phrase the questions in such a way that we present the negative facts - so that these are still incorporated somehow - however this needs more planning as it is a very vague idea.
We all took to our computers to find an appropriate vape lounge to film the interview. We intially looked at Gravesend as it seemed to be the most accessible location for all of the group. However, there were not many options - some had even closed down - and the ones that were left open didn't look like the best filming locations.
We decided to broaden our location search and ended up finding a vape lounge in Canterbury - Vape Royale. This looked like an ideal location - the next step is to get in touch. Before we do this, we want to figure out the exact angle we want to take with this piece.
