DIGITAL NEWS: (Pre Production) Our Final Idea

After weeks of researching and developing our idea, we eventually had our final idea together.

Our brand / channel:
- A comical channel target towards young adults (19-25) focusing on debunking myths.

Our presenter / anchor:
- Alex Hargood
- Alex presented for our car documentary in the commissions unit so we knew he would be confident and comfortable in front of the camera. He is also the right age (20) to appeal to our target audience so they will be able to relate to him and the information he is presenting. Alex also acted as the presenter in our mock news production about #StopTheTrucks so we know he is capable.


Our reporter (live package):
- Katie Joslin (myself)
- I am confident in my abilities in front of the camera and, like Alex, am the right age to relate to the target audience. I also have the advantage of having acted as the reporter in our mock news production - using the feedback we received from that, I can optimise my performance as the reporter.


Our reporter (pre recorded package):
- Jason Efstathiou
- Again, Jason is the right age to relate to our target audience. As a confident and bubbly person, we are sure he would be able to deliver his lines in the right tone to fit our production. Jason hasn't had a lot of practice at being a reporter but hopefully his confident nature will allow him to overcome this obstacle.


Our news production will begin in "The Bunker" with Alex introducing the show and the topics to be covered. 

Our Pre Recorded Package: - Hangover cures

- We will put 4 hangover cures to the test on our test subject; Aidan. 
- The segment will be introduced by Jason - he will explain what exactly a hangover is in scientific terms. 
- We will then move straight into the cures; fry-up, keeping hydrated, hair of the dog and rubbing lemons into your armpit. 
- Before each hangover cure is put to the test, there will be shots of Aidan drinking - these will speed up each trial. 
- After each hangover cure is tested, Aidan will review how effective it was.
- At the end, Aidan will reveal which one worked best.

Our Live Package: - Broadwitch Hauntfest

- I will introduce the live and establish the location and interview subject
- The interview will be up first and should last 1 minute
- We will then move into the myth or fact quiz where I will quiz John on some Halloween myths and facts we have found.
- At the end we will promote their Hauntfest.

Alex will open and close the show as well as link the packages.

Our Trailer

- we want our trailer to be improvised
- our rough idea is to have Alex listing off myths and theories and claiming that we have the answer
- we want our trailer to be funny - to fit with the tone of our production

The Website

- we will have a website called 'The Bunker'
- this will have links to the latest episodes of The Bunker
- the trailer will also be available on the website
- we also want a way of allowing the audience to interact with the programme - having a suggestions section and having a twitter page will allow them to send in their own myths and theories to put to the test
